Background Young people who need the greatest encouragement are often the most difficult to reach. The SEED career fair will provided students with the answers to questions such as: "What type of education would I need?" and "How much can I make in this position?" The potential income is a serious consideration for a number of students so understanding the personal, emotional and educational commitment that it takes to achieve a livable wages job in the future is a lesson that our youth need to learn today. A woman engineer can be seen as a role model for other women, on the strength of her furthering of the profile of women in academia. Alternatively, she could be seen as a role model for aspiring academics, regardless of their gender, on the strength of her academic achievements and/or dedication to her chosen discipline.
